Our goal at Children’s Day Center is to provide a nurturing, safe and stimulating environment that embraces learning through play to promote the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of our students.
We believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and the childcare provider is part of a family’s village. Parent involvement is encouraged at Children’s Day Center. Together with parents, we foster a community of support by having open and regular communication between teachers and parents. We hope to build this support system through monthly parent meetings, family events and volunteer opportunities.

We believe children learn best by “doing,” and encourage creativity, curiosity and exploration. Given opportunities to explore the world around them, young children become active, involved learners. Children’s Day Center is a place where they can be successful and discover that learning is fun.
Children’s Day Center and Preschool is the oldest group childcare center in Baraboo, Wisconsin. It was established in 1975 by parents and teachers who wanted quality, convenient group child care in a neighborhood setting, and has remained as such through the present time. It is operated by People Care, Inc., a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents and community members. The center has the capacity to serve 50 children, from 6-weeks-old to 11-years-old, with an infant room, a toddler room, a preschool classroom, a Baraboo Early Learning Cooperative classroom in partnership with the Baraboo School District, and a 4K wrap around classroom.

Our spring fundraiser is here! We are raising money for playground updates and hope to bring in at least $1,500. We need every family’s support to reach this goal. This year we are selling popcorn through The Popcorn Shop, with a variety of flavors priced at $15 and $22 per bag. If just 20 families sell 10 bags of caramel corn, we will raise $1,760 in profit for our playground improvements. Thank you for helping us make this happen.

For more than five years, our center has worked tirelessly to fundraise for a much-needed upgrade to our playground. Improving it was essential for both safety and long-term sustainability. Thanks to the incredible support of our families, staff, donors, and community partners, we are thrilled to share that we have officially reached our fundraising goal!
Our brand-new poured-in-place rubber playground surface, professionally installed by PlaygroundBoss LLC, is scheduled to be poured in 2026. This upgrade will provide a safer, cleaner, and more durable play space for our children, and we could not be more excited for this next chapter.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this dream a reality. Your commitment to our center and our kids made all the difference!
